Michael Barton, Deputy Principal - Business Development, Djarragun College

Michael Barton was listed in the 2017 Hot List with The Educator Magazine for his ability to develop and modernise curriculum focusing on innovative use of technology and data analysis techniques. This led to improved student achievement and began his journey of wanting to reduce barriers in schools between the ‘business’ and ‘education’ focus areas. He has a background across State, Catholic and independent schooling and led Robb College at the University of New England. He is currently Deputy Principal – Business Development and Strategy at Djarragun College in North Queensland. In this role, he is responsible for bringing the business services of the College closer to the educational strategy in order to close the gap for Indigenous Australians.
