Terry Byers, Director of Innovation and Learning, and Director of the Centenary Library, Anglican Church Grammar School Churchie

Terry Byers (PhD, MLI and BEd) is currently the Director of the Centenary Library and Innovation in Learning at the Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) in Brisbane, Queensland. He oversees the strategic direction and operation of the Centenary Library and works with teachers at the intersection of the cognitive sciences, pedagogy and technology-enabled and contemporary learning environments through the Churchie Research Centre. Terry is also a Research Fellow on the 2016-2019 Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Project Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change’. He recently completed his PhD dissertation in conjunction with the ‘Evaluating 21st Century Learning Environments’ ARC Linkage project focusing on empirical evidence of the impact of innovative learning environments. His thesis, in which he was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award, derived quantitative methods to ascertain the empirical impact of different learning spaces on teachers and students.
